Birgit K. Toome, MD, FAAD, FASDS, is a 1986-graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, in Newark, NJ. Her postgraduate training includes her residency in dermatology conducted at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York (1986-1990). Dr. Toome completed her undergraduate education in Biology at Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1982. She attained board certification in dermatology with the American Board of Dermatology. Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. over the years, she has been honored with multiple awards by Inside Jersey, South Jersey Magazine, SJ Magazine, and more.
